"The Bombshell Brigade used a strong second half in Mesquite Saturday night to win a 145-61 victory over Viva La Revolucion. A strong defense allowed the Lone Star Assassins to defeat the Deadly Kennedys 140-47 in the opening bout of Assassination City Roller Derby's league event before a sell out crowd.

Eve L Genius opened up her bout with a 4-0 jam to give La Rev their
first and only lead of the night. Southern Vice scored ten points on the second jam for the Bombshell Brigade, which gave the team in red a 10-4 lead. Eileen left followed that jam up with a 5-0 score in the third jam and the Brigade had a 15-4.

Both teams exchanged scoring jams until Ursa Major scored a 4-0 jam for
  La Rev narrowing the lead to 24-16. Bertha Contreaux scored a 10-6 jam for the Bombshells in the tenth jam expanding the lead to 34-22.

The team in green got into penalty trouble, and Rollin' Inferno put
up a 13-0 jam for the Bombshell Brigade. However, the next jam the Bombshell Brigade's jammer went to the penalty box and Ursa Major scored a 9-0 jam for La Rev closing the margin to 51-32. Eve L. Genius followed that jam with a 5-0 score for the team in green and the margin was narrowed to 51-37.

However, a 10-0 jam by the Bombshell Brigade's Bertha Contreaux and
a 5-0 final jam by Un Desmadre moved the team in red's halftime lead out to 69-41.

The Brigade jumped out quickly in the second half with a 6-0 jam by
  Eileen Left, which was followed up by a 9-4 jam by Birth Contreaux and another 9-0 jam by Eileen Left. This gave the team in red a 93-45 lead after the fourth jam of the second period.

Both teams' defenses dominated for the next six jams as the
4719730856_e69ee8e530_b.jpg Bombshell Brigade took an 8-4 advantage. But a 14 point jam by Red Hot Rage of the Brigade, which was countered by a 5-0 by Leigh Thality set up the final jams of the bout with the team in red ahead 117-58 after 13 jams.

The Bombshell Bridge scored in six consecutive jams highlighted by an
  8-0 jam by Eileen Left in the 24-0 scoring run. La Rev's Bella Disastro scored the final three points of the bout, but the team in red celebrated at 145-61 victory.

The leading scorers for the Bombshell Brigade were Eileen Left with 37
points, Bertha Contreaux with 29 points, Rollin' Inferno with 20 points, and Red Hot Rage with 18 points. Top blockers for the team in red were Claire Voyant, Ella Vader, and Southern Vice.

Top scorers for Viva La Revolution were Eve L Genius with 31 points,
  Ursa Major with 13 points and Bella Disastro with 8 points. Leading blockers were Dee Fibrollator, Lee Thality, and Pow Powell Wheels.

The Lone Star Assassins-Deadly Kennedys bout started off with a
  scoreless jam. Karma Collision scored a 3-0 margin in the second jam, and Jennida Doctor scored a 5-0 advantage in the third jam to give the Lone Star Assassins an 8-0 lead. Stevie Nicks & Licks countered back with an 8-4 jam for the DKs in the fourth jam to narrow the lead to 12-8.

Both teams countered back and forth with points until Jennida Doctor
  scored an 8-1 jam for the Lone Star Assassins in the 14th jam to give the team in black a 41-24 lead. The LSAs shut out the Deadly Kennedys for the final six jams of the half, outscoring them 36-0. The run featured the largest jam of the night by Karma Collision who scored 15 points in 16th jam, when the opposing jammer was sent to the penalty box. In the 18th jam the DKs jammer again was sent to the penalty box and Jennida Doctor scored 14 points. The Lone Star Assassins went to half time with a 77-24 lead.

4719732072_638aec348e_b.jpgThe Deadly Kennedys opened up the half with Small Block taking a 4-3 first jam. Again, the LSA's defense stepped up to shutout the DK's for 10 out of the next 11 jams starting in the third jam of the
second half. The run was highlighted by a 14-point jam by Slayer Delilah in the ninth jam, and a 10-point jam by Jennida Doctor in the 10th jam. During that Run, the Lone Star Assassins outscored their opponents 51-4 putting the bout out of reach.

Both teams traded scores back and forth until in the last jam of the
bout when the Deadly Kennedys picked up a moral victory with an 8-0 jam by Small Block. While the scoring jam helped the DKs feel a little better, the team in black still celebrated the final score of 140-47.

The leading scorers for the Lone Star Assassins were Jennida Doctor with
51 points, 26 points for Karma Collision, Annie Maniac with 17 points and Slayer Delilah with 14 points. Top blockers for the LSAs were Whoa Silla Tha Killa, Obi 1 Nairobi, and Muffy Bumpin.

Top scorers for the Deadly Kennedys were Small Block with 23 points and
Stevie Nicks & Licks with 18 points. Leading blockers for the DKs were Castro, Kimical Imbalance, JuJu Jitsu, and Button Thru.

The next action for Assassination City will be a home bout double heade
r on July 17."
