She stood atop the grand staircase surveying the scene. The spotlight shone on her, causing the diamonds encircling her wrist to shimmer sickeningly. Muffy descended the staircase with all eyes upon her.
At the bottom, she took the arm of the handsome man waiting for her. He was just another of Dallas’ elite with nothing but money to offer. She was not impressed. As she reached for a glass of champagne, her mind screamed, “Get me a shot and get me the hell out of here!”
Muffy was well-known for her excesses, but for all Dallas society had to offer, it could not satisfy her voracious appetite. She wanted something dark and dangerous.
When the opportunity presented itself, Muffy slipped out a side door and sped away to the seedier streets of Dallas. She pulled into a bar with loud music and a sinister vibe. A group of women eyed her suspiciously. One of the women looked up and said, “Who are you?” “Muffy.” she replied. The women roared with laughter but invited her to join them.
That night Muffy met the tough, smart and edgy women of Assassination City Roller Derby. And in an instant they became her sisters – assassins-in-arms. Muffy still leads the life of a Dallas socialite by day, but when the sun sinks low in the southern sky, she transforms into Muffy Bumpin – a larger-than-life paradox - taking down unsuspecting victims on the streets of Assassination City. |
